Romance genre

Romance Films
Romance films are films in which the main character is involved or gets involved into a relationship with someone or even something. Most romance films have the main character have to overcome some sort of obstacle to them claim or declare their love to the subject. The normal obstacle being another person in which the subject either chooses or the obstacle tries to prevent the main character from being with the subject.

The main audience for the genre is females of all ages but from my view the older ones, due to the fact they have experienced life and can possibly relate to the issues or stories within the romance films.
Males don't normally like romance films as they aren't very masculine and are considered in my eyes "soppy bullshit" very far from the typical male's favorite of the action genre.

Romance films seem to follow the same structure in each film, which is along the lines of:
Main character meets subject -> They get along -> Something goes wrong -> Main character overcomes the obstacle -> Happy ending.
Basically the same structure of most films.
The lead character in typical romance films always seems to have their subject be "out of reach" meaning better than them/more attractive and such, known as "out of their league."
The sub-genre of Romantic Comedy (Rom-Com) follows the same routine with the main character apart from they seem to do everything wrong due to either bad luck or stupidity in some cases.
