Evaluation | Preliminary Progression EA7

Preliminary

vs

Final Production

Camera and editing.
Whilst the preliminary task shows examples of shot/reverse shot and the 180 degree rule and the final production doesn't, the final product has a match on action cut to compare with the preliminary task. In the preliminary task the camera goes from a long shot to a mid shot of Nuno's waist and hand opening the door, cutting what I feel is too early into the long shot again. In my final production it goes from a mid shot of the top half of Kieron's body into a close up of his hand moving the shoes around and sliding his feet in. I feel that in the final production, the times at which I had cut the clip managed to capture the scene nicely as well as manage to look slightly professional and 'un-rushed'. The final production contains establishing shots at the beginning unlike the preliminary task, giving the viewer a broader sense of the setting compared to what the preliminary task achieves.
