Teenager represented in an American film.
The teenagers represented in most of America's successful films are highly exhagerated, psychically appealing and have the whitest teeth. They generally tend to have multiple professions in which they are classed good at. For example an American film called High School Musical casts teenagers/young adults that happen to have a nice appearance. Their roles within the film have them smart, talented and popular. Living almost perfect lives in a positively abnormal community.
High School Musical can be compared to the American Tv Drama: Glee.
Having its actors psychically appealing and talented in their roles, their society being abnormal too, over dramatic.
In my film opening the character of mine is represented as a normal teenager. Wearing average clothing (Jeans and a t-shirt) with a Marvel Comic bag. By the setting on the bedroom he is in, you call tell that he isn't upper class as the walls are drawn on and the paint is faded. The usage of the tobacco prop can also contribute towards his normallity as majority of teenagers around our area smoke. The lighting of my character differs from the lighting of the High School Musical picture. The High School Music photo happens to be a clear, evened out light whereas in the photo of Kieron, it is real lighting, being shadows casted around most of him and the scene.
Even though his character is not fully represented/introduced within the opening two minutes, it is quite clear that he isn't one of the over the top Ameri-Teens from the Disney Channel.
